To educate and prepare girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living.
Our vision
To provide life-changing, high quality programs for girls
To provide life-changing, high quality experiences to the women delivering the programs
To promote and provide an environment that allows all girls and women to reach their full potential
To positively transform how girls and women perceive themselves and their place in society
Our Impact
Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona was established in July 2008 by a team of
women dedicated to transforming the lives of girls and women in our region. During our first year, 98 girls participated in Girls on the Run® and Girls on Track® at 8 sites in Flagstaff during fall and spring seasons. Thirty-four coaches, 59 running buddies from the community and over 70 5K volunteers made our first year a success. During our second year, participation grew to 169 girls at 11 sites in Flagstaff and Grand Canyon. Fifty-four coaches, 95 running buddies from the community, and over 120 5K volunteers made this incredible program growth possible. In spring 2010, participation in the New Balance GOTR 5K exceeded 220. Each season over 50% of girls have received scholarships to participate in our programs. During the 2010-2011 school year, Girls on the Run of Northern Arizona will offer one program season - Fall - at sites in Flagstaff, Grand Canyon, and Page. Sites will be confirmed in June. Our goal is to continue working to ensure that all girls have the opportunity to benefit from the life-changing experience of Girls on the Run® .
